First Things First: What Are Homeopathic Remedies Made From?

Homeopathic remedies can be prepared from a wide range of natural sources:

  • Plants (like Chamomilla, Belladonna, Arnica)

  • Minerals (like Sulphur, Calcarea carbonica, Natrum muriaticum)

  • Animal-derived substances (like Apis, Lachesis)

  • Even some nosodes (prepared from diseased tissue, in a highly potentized and safe form)

And yet — these remedies are nothing like their original form by the time they reach your palm. Here's how that transformation happens...

Step 1: Mother Tincture – or Trituration?

Homeopathy begins with what’s called a Mother Tincture — a concentrated extract of the raw material using alcohol or distilled water.

But what if the substance can’t be dissolved in liquid?
What if it’s a hard mineral, a salt, or even a metal?

Enter: Trituration – The Sacred Grinding

For insoluble substances like Silicea, Mercurius, or Aurum metallicum, the process starts not with liquid — but with a ritualistic grinding.

This is called trituration, and it’s deeply symbolic.

  • The raw material is mixed with lactose powder (milk sugar)

  • It’s ground in a mortar and pestle, rhythmically, usually for an hour per step

  • Each cycle of grinding and scraping represents one trituration level (like 1X, 2X, 3X)

During trituration, the substance is gradually broken down — not just physically, but energetically, preparing it to become a remedy.

Many homeopaths believe that the act of trituration begins the "awakening" of the remedy — making it spiritually and energetically alive.

Once the desired trituration level is reached (usually up to 3X), it can be dissolved in liquid and follow the next steps of potentization.

Step 2: Potentization – The Homeopathic Twist

Potentization involves two key steps:

  • Dilution (repeatedly diluting the substance in water or alcohol)

  • Succussion (vigorously shaking the solution at each step)

This is done in precise ratios, often:

  • 1:10 (X or D potencies)

  • 1:100 (C potencies)

For example, a 30C remedy has been diluted at a 1:100 ratio thirty times, with energetic shaking at every step.

The goal? To remove material toxicity but amplify the energetic imprint of the substance

Step 3: Imbibing onto Sugar Pellets

Once the remedy reaches its desired potency, it is:

  • Dropped onto lactose or sucrose pellets

  • Gently dried and bottled

  • Stored in dark glass vials to protect its energetic integrity

Each tiny pill now carries the memory — the vibrational essence — of the original substance

Have you ever taken a remedy that felt like it shifted something within?
Maybe it wasn’t immediate, but calmness settled in… a fever passed gently… an emotion softened.

Feel free to share your story in the comments or message me — I’d love to hear how homeopathy has touched your life.

When someone hands you a tiny white pill…
…know that it’s more than sugar.

It is:

  • A plant, once wild in the sun

  • A metal, once buried in earth

  • A substance, hand-ground in stillness

  • Potentized, diluted, and energized — until only its essence remains

Homeopathy is not chemistry alone.
It is ritual, intention, and energetic medicine.

If you're curious about how these remedies could support you or your loved ones, especially in acute or chronic concerns, feel free to book a session.

Let’s walk your healing path, together.

With warmth,
Anindita Sinha
